About

Johanna Wood is a British designer living and working near St Albans, England.

Johanna gained a BA Hons Degree in Printed Textile Design at Surrey College of Art and Design, Farnham in 1990. Whilst there she was given an award of distinction for her designs, and exhibited in Convent Garden and The Mall Galleries, The Mall, London.

She has exhibited at various art fairs and galleries around the UK selling her exclusive hand-painted, printed and embellished silk scarves, cushions and wall hangings.

She later trained in interior design and worked for a design company in London furnishing newly developed up-market investment properties in and around central London. Now she runs her own business based from home and focussing on residential interior design. She also undertakes private commissions of murals, canvasses, mosaics and textiles.

Johanna's work is inspired by every day life, our environment, nature, fashion and travelling and is the kind of person who absorbs her surroundings.

Photography plays a very important part in the development of her work, capturing ideas, patterns and textures, which are then used and manipulated in many different ways to create her work.

Johanna accepts commissions from private individuals and companies for many bespoke items of paintings, mosaics, fabrics, cards, and garden art.
